Expected outcomes for cancer registries
- Identification of methods and software useful to study place of residence of cancer cases
- Availability of practical material for developing spatial analysis on cancer incidence rates
- Availability of deprivation index estimates to be used to study not only incidence but also other CR indicators, such as, for example, survival
- Connection with National and/or European Environmental Protection Agencies in order to have the possibility to connect pollutants data with cancer incidence data
Expected outcomes for public health managers
- Construction of a model for cancer incidence mapping and risk for those areas covered by population-based CRs
- Creation of groups of European experts dedicated to discuss the connection of cancer incidence, SES and polluting agent’s data
- Possible identification of areas at higher breast cancer risk due to environmental factors
Expected outcomes for adolescents and young women
- Production of an online course for young girls/adolescents to be validated by the target group in each target country (this is evaluated through user testing)
- Increased awareness of relevant breast cancer risk factors (if we use a user survey before & after completion of course)
- Mainstreaming/integration of online courses into routine health education/promotion work by cancer leagues (or, relevant actor) in the target country (to achieve longer-term sustainability)
